Join YWCA Adelaide in celebrating World YWCA Day on Saturday, 28th of April!
We’ll be hosting a members breakfast to fund raise for our Encore program, an after-care program for women who have experienced breast cancer.
About World YWCA Day:
Every year in April, YWCA’s around the world commemorate World YWCA Day (April 24), highlighting the history and achievements of the global YWCA movement.
In 2003, the YWCA of Australia held the first annual YWCA Round the World Breakfast. Over a 24-hour period, from country to country, and continent to continent, YWCA’s in over 40 countries participated in the biggest breakfast of the year. The World YWCA Council recommended that the Round the World Breakfast be continued annually to create awareness of the World YWCA and raise funds for programs empowering women to lead their communities.
The theme of this year’s World YWCA Day is ‘Find Your Voice, Share Your Story!’
On the day:
Our CEO, Liz Forsyth, will provide an update on the YWCA National Merger Project and YWCA Adelaide’s Encore program coordinator Jemma Taylor will discuss the importance of after-care services for women who have experienced breast cancer.
Held in the eclectic and welcoming space at Mama Jambo, we invite our YWCA Adelaide members and friends to gather over a delicious buffet breakfast, and connect with each other and the work of the YWCA. Funds raised from this event will support the Encore program.
Breakfast is buffet style with gluten free and vegan friendly options provided.
Tea and coffee available at venue for purchase.
