Connecting the Dots: Explore your way through STEM and Leadership

Held on Friday 1st June 2018 | Bonython Hall, The University of Adelaide

The SHE Leads High Conference is for young women in years 10-12 at high school. A fantastic investment in the leadership development of young women at government and independent schools, it is South Australia’s only leadership conference for young women, designed to inspire pathways for future success.

Featuring a range of guest speakers, panel and break-out sessions, the conference has been described by former attendees as:

The 2018 Conference provided participants with an opportunity to hear from a wide range of women who have explored their leadership opportunities within a STEM related field. With speakers ranging from Scientists, Doctors, Engineers, Coding Programmers, Project Managers and young leaders, the conference was a great opportunity to connect STEM with leadership.

WORKSHOP 2: Do you want to build an online game? Let’s get coding – Presented by Mighty Kingdom

WORKSHOP 3: Careers in STEM. Three leading female scientists from The University of Adelaide will go through their expertise in their field and let you know what career options there are for women in these fields – Presented by Professor Rachel Burton, Dr Claudia Szabo & Dr Fiona Kerr

WORKSHOP 4: Connecting the dots in Leadership – Presented by Lisa Gascoigne, Lisa Warner, Clare Peterson and Shahleena Martin

PANEL DISCUSSION: What did a female Doctor, Engineer, Scientist, Robotics enthusiast and Urban Planner say…. hear from five young inspiring women who have found their niche in the world of STEM.
