Aboriginal Women’s Leadership State Gathering 2018

Tuesday 10th & Wednesday 11th April 2018

Make your mark as a leader at the inaugural South Australian State-Wide Aboriginal Women’s Leadership Gathering. Over two exciting days the Gathering will showcase, celebrate and further develop local Aboriginal women’s leadership. Exchange cultural stories, practices and languages through dance, song and music and establish relationships and networks with other like-minded women.

The Gathering aims to empower Aboriginal women to utilise our collective voice and advance Aboriginal women’s rights in the leadership space through interactive, reflective and engaging presentations and workshops. The Gathering is open to all Aboriginal women in South Australia and will be an event not to be missed.

For an investment of $66, participants will receive:

  • all catering while at the gathering (Tues & Wed)
  • gathering satchel
  • networking and connection activities

For regional participants

Limited accommodation rooms for regional participants has been sourced through Lincoln College (Mon 9th & Tues 10th April) and a bus charter is available from Whyalla leaving on Monday 9th April with a pick up at Port Augusta, returning back to Whyalla on Wednesday 11th April after the gathering. You can book your travel and accommodation at time of purchasing your ticket.

Ticket Scholarships

 

To assist participants in attending the State Gathering we have a range of scholarships available in covering the cost of the Gathering ticket. To apply for a scholarship (see eligibility below) please contact Lisa Warner at lisa.warner@ywca.com.au for an application form.

General Ticket Scholarship

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander woman
  • Can fully commit to attending both days of the State Forum
  • Can demonstrate how attendance will directly benefit leadership development
  • Must be unwaged

Young Women Ticket Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander woman
  • Must be aged 30 years or under at time of State Forum
  • Can fully commit to attending both days of the State Forum
  • Can demonstrate how attendance will directly benefit leadership development
