Changing the World

Recently, YWCA Adelaide merged with YWCA’s across Australia to form YWCA Australia.

YWCA Australia is the country’s leading feminist organisation. YWCA’s national, united voice works to empower all women, young women and girls and ensures their access to leadership positions, economic independence, human rights, safety and self-determination.

YWCA’s Adelaide office is the leading voice for young women in South Australia advocating for change which will advance women’s rights and women’s leadership.

We strive for a world where women are equally represented in leadership and decision-making positions. A world where violence against women does not exist. A world where women experience health and wellbeing. And a world where women have control over their choices and their bodies.

We articulate our views through Submissions to the State Budget and government inquiries and we are a prominent voice in the media. Through our campaigns YWCA promotes and provokes social, attitudinal and behavioural change.

Our public positions on issues are expressed in our Policy Platform.

YWCA’s policy and advocacy is informed and influenced by the policy positions of YWCA Australia and World YWCA.
